The person states that, so far as permitted, they have renounced their citizenship or nationality and intend to live permanently in the United Republic if allowed. The applicant states that, despite renouncing another citizenship and intending to domicile in the United Republic, they may need to be absent from the United Republic from time to time because of employment or self-employment. A person who got Tanzania citizenship by naturalisation can automatically lose that citizenship if absent from the United Republic for five continuous years or more.
