Statute overview

About this statute

Board members serve for three years, may be re-appointed for another three years, and may resign by written notice to the appointing authority. If a Governing Board member misses three consecutive meetings without reasonable excuse, the Governing Board must notify the appointing authority, who may end that member’s appointment and appoint a replacement. If a Governing Board member leaves office or cannot act for specified reasons, the appointing authority may appoint a replacement. If a non-Chairman Governing Board member is unable to attend because of illness, infirmity, or absence from the United Republic, the appointing authority may appoint a temporary replacement. The Governing Board must elect one of its members as Vice-Chairman.
