Statute overview

About this statute

The members must elect one of their own as Vice Chairman of the Council. A member normally holds office for three years and may be re-appointed. Members appointed because of another office stop being members when they stop holding that office. A qualifying Council member may resign at any time by written notice to the appointing authority. The Council must meet at least four times a year, the Secretary must give at least 14 days’ notice of meetings, and the Chairman or Vice Chairman must preside depending on who is present. If a Council member who serves by virtue of office cannot attend a meeting, that member may nominate someone from the member’s organisation to represent them.
