Statute overview

About this statute

The Chairman and Committee members serve for three years, and the members must elect a Vice-Chairman from among themselves. This section sets the Committee’s meeting rules, including quarterly meetings, who may call an extraordinary meeting, and who presides. A qualifying committee member who cannot attend a meeting may nominate someone from their organisation to represent them. A Committee meeting has quorum only if half of the members in office are present. Committee matters are decided by majority vote; if votes are equal, the presiding person gets a casting vote. The Chairman may direct decisions to be made without a meeting by circulating papers, and any member may insist the matter be deferred to a meeting.
