Statute overview
About this statute
The Commission must elect one of its members as Vice-Chairman. Members may hold office for three years, may be re-appointed, may resign by written notice, and can lose membership after three consecutive unexplained absences. Commission proceedings remain valid despite a vacancy among members or a defect in a member’s appointment. The Secretary to the Commission must attend all meetings and must not vote at those meetings. The Commission must meet at least four times a year, and the Chairman may set the time and place. The Chairman may also convene special meetings and must call one within 21 days if requested in writing by at least six members or if directed by the Minister. A meeting needs a quorum of at least two-thirds of members in office.
