About this statute
Eligible overseas nationals with ROC ordinary passports may apply for an overseas-resident endorsement on the passport. Men near conscription age or of conscription age who have not yet completed military service may be subject to limits. If a passport with an overseas compatriot status endorsement is being reissued or replaced, and the overseas residence proof is still valid after verification, the status endorsement may be transferred again. 持有僑居身分加簽護照的人,在護照有效期間內,其加簽效力與華僑身分證明書相同。 Minors aged 7 to under 18 need their legal representative’s written consent to apply for the listed certificates/endorsements; minors under 7 or persons under guardianship must have the legal representative apply for them. 主管機關受理申請核發華僑身分證明書時,應收取證明書費;費額由主管機關決定。
