中央通訊社設置條例

This provision establishes the Central News Agency and says it will be called “本社”.

董事會通過本社組織編制後，須報請主管機關備查。

本社的會計年度應與政府會計年度一致。

Each fiscal year, 本社 must prepare a work plan and budget before the year starts, have the board approve it, and then report it to the competent authority under the budget procedure. At year end, it must submit work results and final accounts to the supervisory board for approval and then report them to the competent authority under the final accounts procedure.

董事會應擬訂本社捐助章程，並報請主管機關核定。

本社在因情事變更而不能達到設置目的時，可以解散；解散後要依法清算，財產歸屬國庫。

This provision says the statute takes effect on the date it is promulgated.

本社屬財團法人；其設置依本條例規定，中央政府捐助新臺幣一千萬元作為創立基金。

本社的任務包括辦理國內外新聞報導、對外新聞通訊，以及加強與國際新聞通訊社合作。

The entity’s funding sources are listed as government budget subsidies, domestic and foreign donations, service income, and other income.

本社可以繼續使用原先使用的國有財產；如果要整修或擴建，必須先徵求政府同意。

本社應設董事會，董事九至十五人，其中一人為董事長，並由行政院院長自指定人員中遴聘；同一黨籍董事不得超過董事總額二分之一。

本社要設監事會，監事設三人至五人，其中一人為常務監事；監事由行政院院長從指定人選中遴聘，同一黨籍的監事不得超過總額一半。

董事、監事任期三年，期滿可續聘一次，但續聘人數不得超過總人數二分之一；如辭職、死亡或無法執行業務，應予解聘並補聘缺額。

董事、監事原則上是無給職，但董事長與常務監事除外；開會時可以酌支交通費。

本條規定設置一名社長，並由董事會遴聘；另得設一至二名副社長。社長任期三年，期滿得續聘。
