About this statute
Section 1 provides definitions for terms used in the Act, including “compounding spirits”, “currency point”, “denatured spirits”, “licensing officer”, and “spirits”. People must not compound spirits for profit or sale unless they hold a licence issued under section 3. The licensing officer may issue a licence to compound spirits on an application and may impose terms and conditions, including specified formulae. Allows regulations to prescribe the form of licences and the fees to be paid for a licence. The Minister responsible for finance may amend the Schedule to this Act by statutory instrument with the approval of Cabinet.
