About this statute

Defines "commission" as including the National Citizenship and Immigration Board and defines "specified officers" as those listed in the First Schedule to the Act. Parliament may, by resolution, amend the First Schedule to this Act. Specified officers must be paid the salaries, allowances and benefits prescribed in the Second Schedule; Parliament may amend that Schedule by resolution. The Minister responsible for public service may, by statutory instrument, make regulations to carry the Act into effect. If a specified officer who is not entitled to pension or gratuity ceases to hold office, they must be paid a gratuity equal to one year’s salary or 30% of salary per completed year of service, whichever is greater; certain resignations or removals bar entitlement; gratuity charged on the Consolidated Fund.
