About this statute

The Act's short title is "the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2002." This section lists definitions of terms used in the Act. No person shall be prosecuted for an offence under this Act except with the consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions. The courts of Uganda have jurisdiction to try offences under this Act regardless of where they were committed when specified territorial or personal connections apply. Offences under this Act are not to be treated as political offences for extradition or mutual legal assistance, and requests for extradition or mutual legal assistance based on those offences may not be refused solely because they are political or politically motivated.
