An overseas insurer must nominate a tax representative to the Board within 3 months of this section first applying, and the representative must meet residency or UK establishment requirements and be approved or appointed by the Board. This provision amends several tax and vehicle-duty rules, including new powers for the Secretary of State and Treasury, updated excise-duty assessments, and reduced-pollution vehicle certificates. This provision amends several tax rules, including corporation tax interest, Schedule A charging rules, and enterprise investment scheme provisions, and gives the Treasury and Customs and Excise specific regulatory/commencement powers. This provision changes when shares are treated as eligible or not eligible and requires notice to the inspector in certain chargeable-event cases.
