Section 2-17-13 Slaughter, Sale, Offer for Sale, Transportation, Etc., of Animals, Carcasses, Food Products, Etc., in Violation of Provisions of Chapter or Regulations Promulgated by Commissioner.

No person, firm or corporation shall, with respect to any cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules or other equines or poultry or any carcasses, parts of carcasses, meat or meat food products or poultry food products of any such animals: (1) Slaughter any such animals or birds or prepare any such articles which are capable of being used as human food at any establishment preparing such articles solely for intrastate commerce, except in compliance with the requirements of this chapter; (2) Sell, transport, offer for sale or transportation or receive for transportation in intrastate commerce any such articles which are capable of use as human food and are adulterated or misbranded at the time of such sale, transportation, offer for sale or transportation or receipt for transportation or any articles required to be inspected under this chapter unless they have been so inspected and passed or do, with respect to any such articles which are capable of use as human food, any act while they are being transported in intrastate commerce or held for sale after such transportation which is intended to cause or has the effect of causing such article to be adulterated or misbranded; or (3) Sell, transport, offer for sale or transportation or receive for transportation in commerce or from an official establishment any slaughtered poultry from which the blood, feathers, feet, head or viscera have not been removed in accordance with regulations promulgated by the commissioner, except as may be authorized by regulations of the commissioner.
