Section 2-6B-1 Short Title; Legislative Intent.

(a) This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the Alabama Family Farm Preservation Act. (b) The Legislature recognizes the importance of the family farm in Alabama. It is the intent of the Legislature to assist in the preservation of family farms in Alabama by assuring that lawfully conducted farms and farm operations will not be considered to be public or private nuisances when and so long as they are operated in conformance with generally accepted agricultural and farm management practices, as described herein. The Legislature further recognizes that family farms may incorporate to take advantage of those provisions of law not afforded to other corporations.
