Section 2-17-6 Inspection Not to Be Provided at Establishments for Slaughter or Preparation of Cattle, Sheep, Poultry, Carcasses, Etc., Not Intended for Use as Human Food; Denaturation or Identification Thereof Prior to Offer for Sale or Transportation; Purchase, Transportation of Carcasses, Meat Food Products or Poultry Food Products Not Intended for Use as Human Food and Not Denatured, Identified, Etc.

(a) Inspection shall not be provided under this chapter at any establishment for the slaughter of cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules or other equines or poultry or the preparation of any carcasses or parts or products of such animals or birds which are not intended for use as human food, but such articles shall, prior to their offer for sale or transportation in intrastate commerce, unless naturally inedible by humans, be denatured or otherwise identified as prescribed by regulations of the commissioner to deter their use for human food. (b) No person, firm or corporation shall buy, sell, transport or offer for sale or transportation or receive for transportation in intrastate commerce any carcasses, parts thereof, meat or meat food products or poultry food products of any such animals or birds which are not intended for use as human food unless they are denatured or otherwise identified as required by the regulations of the commissioner or are naturally inedible by humans.
