Section 16-60-240 “Displaced Homemaker” Defined.

As used in this article, the term “displaced homemaker” shall have the following meaning unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: An individual who: (1) Has worked in the home for a substantial number of years providing unpaid household services for family members; (2) Is unemployed or underemployed; (3) Has had or reasonably is expected to have difficulty in securing employment; and (4) Has been dependent on the income of another family member, but is no longer supported by such income, or has been dependent on government assistance, but is no longer eligible for such assistance, or is supported by benefits of the Aid to Families with Dependent Children Program.
