About this statute

The commission must notify the owner and, if different, the applicant of its listing decision, and if the property is listed it must send a signed certificate. The owner may use the heritage agriculture designation on the property. The designation is honorary, does not add rights or privileges, does not change ownership rights, and no one may impair the owner’s property rights because of it. The designation ends if the property no longer qualifies, and the commission may require an annual affidavit.
