Public service corporations must give the commission specified reports, information, and records, and commission officers or employees must not knowingly disclose confidential information except in stated situations.

Reports by public service corporations to commission; duty of corporation to deliver documents to commission; confidential nature of information furnished; exception; classification A. Every public service corporation shall furnish to the commission, in the form and detail the commission prescribes, tabulations, computations, annual reports, monthly or periodical reports of earnings and expenses, and all other information required by it to carry into effect the provisions of this title and shall make specific answers to all questions submitted by the commission. If a corporation is unable to answer any question, it shall give a good and sufficient reason therefor. B. When required by the commission, a public service corporation shall deliver to the commission copies of any maps, profiles, contracts, franchises, books, papers and records in its possession, or in any way relating to its property or affecting its business, and also a complete inventory of all its property in the form the commission directs. C. No information furnished to the commission by a public service corporation, except matters specifically required to be open to public inspection, shall be open to public inspection or made public except on order of the commission entered after notice to the affected public service corporation, or by the commission or a commissioner in the course of a hearing or proceeding. D. Any officer or employee of the commission who knowingly divulges any such information is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor.
