Purpose and legislative effect
“This section says the act is called the Business and Professions Code.”
This part may be cited as the Real Estate Law. This section says chapter definitions apply only to this part, unless the text says otherwise. “Commissioner” means the Real Estate Commissioner. “Department” means the Department of Real Estate in the Business and Consumer Services Agency. This section says certain references like “bureau” and “Real Estate Division” mean the Department of Real Estate, and it states the section becomes operative on July 1, 2018.

Section 5440.1 does not apply to an advertising display if it is used exclusively for certain listed purposes.
Section 5442.5.
The city or county legislative body must hear objections to removing an on-premises advertising display, may continue the hearing, and must then decide whether to allow or overrule objections before ordering removal.
Section 5499.7.
A qualified civil engineer is generally exempt from this chapter while practicing the profession for which they are registered, but may not use the title “architect” unless licensed as required.
Section 5537.5.
A licensee is not treated as violating a confidential settlement agreement or other confidential agreement when making a report to the board as required by this article.
Section 5588.3.
Each licensee must file a current mailing address with the board and report any mailing-address change, including the old and new address, within 30 days.
