Purpose and legislative effect
“This section says the act is called the Business and Professions Code.”
This part may be cited as the Real Estate Law. This section says chapter definitions apply only to this part, unless the text says otherwise. “Commissioner” means the Real Estate Commissioner. “Department” means the Department of Real Estate in the Business and Consumer Services Agency. This section says certain references like “bureau” and “Real Estate Division” mean the Department of Real Estate, and it states the section becomes operative on July 1, 2018.

Section 7511.5.
A licensee may only advertise or operate from the bureau-listed principal business location unless they have a branch office certificate, and must notify the bureau in writing within 30 days after closing or changing a branch office.
Section 7535.
This chapter does not apply to several listed groups, including certain government officers, peace officers, retired peace officers, specified security staff, armored carriers, and qualifying tribal security arrangements.
Section 7574.14.
The licensee must keep the license posted in a conspicuous place at the principal place of business.
Section 7582.12.
Certain licensees, qualified managers, and registered uniformed security guards who carry tear gas or another nonlethal chemical agent during employment must complete the required course under Penal Code Section 22835.
