Purpose and legislative effect
“This section says the act is to be known as the “Food and Agricultural Code.””
A person may not alter a record or document filed in a commissioner’s office under this code unless the commissioner or an authorized deputy approves it. The department may establish and maintain tuberculosis control areas within this state. When the department establishes a tuberculosis control area, the affected industry must be notified. The State Veterinarian may authorize testing of cattle in a tuberculosis control area to identify animals affected with tuberculosis. Owners of cattle in a tuberculosis control area must, when the department asks, provide facilities and help for tuberculosis testing.

A department, agency, or officer that spends money or becomes liable for a control or eradication program under the compact must have its State Treasury account credited with payments made to California for that program.
Section 8807.
The secretary may make necessary investigations into reported violations of this division.
Section 9175.
Costs and expenses for dipping or treating cattle or sheep, and for gathering sheep or cattle, become a lien on the animals until the lien is paid or foreclosed by law.
Section 9331.
A person must not resist the destruction of an animal or property when that destruction has been ordered by the State Veterinarian under Section 9562.
Section 9694.
A person may not knowingly sell a bovine animal with tuberculosis after the department has notified them of its condition, unless they first get a written permit from the department.
