Florida Statutes § 701.03 — Cancellation.
A mortgagee or assignee must cancel a paid mortgage within 45 days, unless it is an open-end mortgage. Open-end mortgages may also have to be canceled within 45 days after the borrower gives written notice to close the mortgage, with a stated exception for certain pre-July 1, 2016 mortgages.
