Iowa Code § 561.7 - Changes — nonconsenting spouse
The owner may change homestead boundaries or vacate the homestead, but those changes cannot prejudice earlier conveyances or liens, and an unapproved change of the entire homestead cannot affect the other spouse’s or the children’s rights.
