Iowa Code § 57.2 - Certificate withheld
If an election contest notice is filed in time, the certificate or duplicate abstract and declaration must be withheld until the contest is decided. If those documents have already been issued, the commissioner must notify affected persons or political subdivisions that the election is being contested and the documents
