Iowa Code § 68A.501 - Funds from unknown source — escheat
A candidate or committee may not spend money from an unknown or unidentifiable source, and such money must be turned over to the board and then to the state. At fundraising events, people should be told it is illegal to give more than $25 unless they also provide their name and address.
