Iowa Code § 705.2 - Renunciation
A defendant charged with solicitation may have a defense if, after soliciting someone to commit a felony or aggravated misdemeanor, the defendant stopped the offense by persuading the person not to act or otherwise preventing the crime, and did so with complete and voluntary renunciation.
