75-7c23. Licensure of municipal employees; prohibiting mandatory disclosure and recording of licensure. (a) No employee of a municipality shall be required to disclose to such person's employer the fact that such employee possesses a valid license to carry a concealed handgun. No employee shall be terminated, demoted, disciplined or otherwise discriminated against due to such employee's refusal to disclose the fact that the employee possesses a valid license to carry a concealed handgun. No municipality shall create or maintain a record of an employee's possession of a valid license to carry a concealed handgun, or that an employee has disclosed the fact that such employee possesses a valid license to carry a concealed handgun. Any such record created and maintained by a municipality on or before June 30, 2014, shall be destroyed by such municipality on or before July 31, 2014. (b) For purposes of this section, the term "municipality" has the same meaning as that term is defined in K.S.A. 75-6102, and amendments thereto.
