KRS § 45.240 Treatment of erroneous payments recovered within 60 days of identification -- KRS 45.237 and 45.238 applicable to erroneous payments recovered after 60 days.

If an erroneous or excess public payment is recovered within 60 days after it is identified, the money must be reallocated back to the original fund and appropriation. If recovery is by an unnegotiated State Treasurer’s check, it must be sent to the State Treasurer, who must void it and notify the appropriate agency.
