A pledge may secure any obligation using a lessor’s or sublessor’s rights in a lease or sublease of an immovable and its rents; a lessee’s or sublessee’s rights cannot be pledged.
A pledgee may have rights in rent proceeds deposited in a deposit account, but those rights are limited by certain other parties and exceptions.
This section gives transitional filing rules for older assignments of leases and rents, including when recordation continues, when it ends, and when reinscription must be filed in the mortgage records.
