A marina owner must notify the property owner about the privilege before enforcing it, and generally cannot start an enforcement action until 30 days after the required written notice is delivered.

§4783. Notice of privilege A. A property owner must be notified of the privilege created by this Part before enforcement of the privilege by a marina owner. Notification of the privilege created by this Part is satisfied by: (1) Written storage agreement. A written rental agreement signed by the property owner that includes a notice of the privilege created by this Part; or (2) Written notice of privilege. Written notification of the privilege sent by the marina owner to the property owner. B. A marina owner who does not have a written rental agreement that includes a notice of the privilege created by this Part may not initiate an enforcement action under R.S. 9:4784 until thirty days after the written notice of a privilege required by Paragraph (A)(2) of this Section is delivered to the property owner.
