§1095.1. Board of commissioners; appointment; terms A. The Tangipahoa Parish Juvenile Justice Commission is hereby created to control, administer, and manage the affairs of the district. The commission shall be composed of a board of five commissioners, who shall be qualified electors domiciled and residing in the district. They shall be appointed for terms of four years. One commissioner shall be appointed by the district court judges who serve Tangipahoa Parish and the district attorney for the Twenty-First Judicial District; one commissioner shall be appointed by the judge of the City Court of Hammond; one commissioner shall be appointed by the state representative from District No. 72; one commissioner shall be appointed by the state representative from District No. 73; and one commissioner shall be appointed by the state representative from District No. 74. B. The members of the board of commissioners shall serve without salary or per diem but the board may authorize a reasonable travel allowance for its members in the performance of their official duties.
