§3306. Salary increases; restrictions A. Beginning with the fall term of the 1984-1985 school year, and thereafter, all funds appropriated by the legislature for the purpose of granting salary increases, whether in a specified amount or in an amount determined by a percentage calculation, to all academic and administrative employees of the public institutions of higher education over and above the salary paid to each such employee during the previous school year shall be paid by such institutions to each such employee as specified by the legislature, whether in a specified amount or in an amount determined by a percentage calculation. B. No public institution of higher education or management board of any such institution shall divert any portion of the funds appropriated by the legislature as provided in Subsection A of this Section for any other purpose including but not limited to granting salary increases in amounts greater than those intended by the legislature to any such employee based on merit or for any other cause.
