§1382. Apportionment of expenses The governing bodies of municipalities and parishes covered by the provisions of this Chapter are authorized to purchase suitable sites and to construct and equip suitable buildings for the proper storage of voting machines, and one-half of the costs thereof shall be paid by the governing body of each municipality or parish and the other one-half by the state of Louisiana. The portion to be paid by the state of Louisiana shall be by appropriation for the purpose by the legislature to the secretary of state. In the event of such purchase of sites and construction and maintenance of buildings, the title thereto shall rest one-half in the state and one-half in the parish or municipality coming under the provisions of this Chapter.
