§1304. Divisions of court A. The civil district court shall be divided into seven divisions, known as division A, division B, division C, division D, division E, division F and division G. Each of these divisions shall be presided over by a judge of the court. Any candidate for election to the office of judge of this court must designate the division for which he is a candidate, and, if elected, shall succeed to the office of judge of the division for which he was a candidate. The judge oldest in continuous service in the civil district court shall preside, and in the event two or more judges shall have served the same length of time, the judge oldest in years shall preside. B. The criminal district court shall be divided into six sections, known as section A, section B, section C, section D, section E, and section F. Each of these sections shall be presided over by a judge of this court. Any candidate for election to the office of judge of this court must designate the section for which he is a candidate, and, if elected, shall succeed to the office of judge of the section for which he was a candidate. The judge oldest in continuous service in the criminal district court shall preside, and in the event two or more judges shall have served the same length of time, the judge oldest in years shall preside.
