Creates the Interagency Council on the Prevention of Sex Offenses and sets its membership rules.
§933. Interagency Council on the Prevention of Sex Offenses created; membership; officers; quorum A. The Interagency Council on the Prevention of Sex Offenses is hereby established as a legislative agency. B. The council shall be composed of twenty-four members as follows: (1) A member of the Senate appointed by the Senate president who shall serve as chairman. (2) A member of the House of Representatives appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives who shall serve as vice chairman. (3) The chairman of the Board of Parole or his designee. (4) The chairman of the Board of Pardons or his designee. (5) The chairman of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice or his designee. (6) The secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections or his designee. (7) The assistant secretary of the office of adult services of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections or his designee. (8) The assistant secretary of the office of juvenile justice of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections or his designee. (9) The assistant secretary of the office of community services of the Department of Children and Family Services or his designee. (10) The assistant secretary of the office of behavioral health of the Louisiana Department of Health or his designee. (11) The president of the Louisiana Sheriff's Association or his designee. (12) The president of the Louisiana Chiefs of Police Association or his designee. (13) The supervisor of the bureau of criminal identification and information of the office of state police of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections or his designee. (14) The president of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers or his designee. (15) The president of the Louisiana Juvenile Judges Association or his designee. (16) The president of the Louisiana District Judges Association or his designee. (17) The judicial administrator of the Louisiana Supreme Court or his designee. (18) The attorney general or his designee. (19) Five members appointed by the governor who shall be subject to confirmation by the Senate. (20) The president of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association or his designee. C.(1) If a member designates a representative to the council on his behalf the representative must be, at the time of the designation and during the time of service on the council, an officer or employee of the entity the member represents. (2) Two of the members appointed by the governor must be, at the time of appointment and during the time of service on the council, representatives of the general public with expertise in the treatment of sex offenders. (3) Two of the members appointed by the governor must be designated by the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault.
