RS 32:723
The commissioner must file and index reports of stolen or embezzled vehicles, immediately suspend registration, and not transfer the registration until written notice of recovery. The commissioner must also keep weekly lists of reported stolen, embezzled, or recovered vehicles and make those lists open to inspection.
