The governor, or another appointing authority, must report certain public-office appointments to the secretary of state and the Senate within 30 days.
§6. Appointments to public office; reporting requirements A. Not later than thirty days after the governor appoints a person to any public office within the executive branch of state government or to any other public office which requires Senate confirmation, the governor shall provide the secretary of state and the Senate with the information described in Subsection C of this Section. B. Not later than thirty days after an authority other than the governor appoints a person to any public office which requires Senate confirmation, the authority shall provide the secretary of state and the Senate with the information described in Subsection C of this Section. C. The information to be provided to the secretary of state and to the Senate pursuant to Subsections A and B of this Section shall include the following: (1) Name, home address, and telephone number of the person appointed. (2) Data relating to the position to which the person is appointed including the official designation of the position, the name of the person who is being succeeded, if any, the cause of the vacancy or any other occurrence necessitating the appointment, the effective date of the appointment, and the date on which the appointment expires. D. "Public office" as used in this Section means any state, district, parish, or municipal office or any position on a board, commission, committee, council, or similar governmental entity if the office or position is appointive and is established by the constitution or laws of this state or by executive order.
