PART III. LESSOR'S PRIVILEGE §3241. Limitation on lessor's privilege upon failure or death of lessee The lessor's privilege and right of pledge under any lease, on any building used wholly or in part for mercantile purposes, entered into after August 31st, 1926, shall not extend, in the case of the failure or death of the lessee, to secure rent for a term of more than six months after death or failure. Nothing herein shall be construed to deprive the landlord of his privilege upon the effects on the leased premises, belonging to the purchaser of the lease for the unexpired term, at succession, sheriff's, or syndic's sale, except in the case of the insolvency or death of the purchaser. In such case, the provisions of this Section shall apply in full force.
