CHAPTER 27. GRANT PARISH PORT COMMISSION §2351. Creation of Grant Parish Port Commission A. There is hereby created a commission to be known as the Grant Parish Port Commission. It shall be composed of five members, who shall serve without compensation and who shall be appointed as follows: (1) Two of the commissioners shall be appointed by the governing authority of the parish of Grant; (2) Two of the commissioners shall be appointed by the governing authority of the town of Colfax; (3) One commissioner shall be appointed directly by the governor of the State of Louisiana. B. One of the two commissioners initially appointed by the governing authority of the parish of Grant shall serve for one year. The commissioner initially appointed by the governor, shall serve a term of three years. The remaining commissioner initially appointed by the governing authority of the town of Colfax shall serve a term of four years. The remaining commissioner initially appointed by the governing authority of the parish of Grant shall serve a term of five years. Thereafter, the successors of such commissioners shall be appointed for five-year terms. C. Any vacancy on the commission for any reason shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments and for the unexpired term of office.
