§9076. Improvement district; Orleans Parish A. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the governing authority in the parish of Orleans may continue to levy and collect any tax or fee levied to support an improvement district within such parish created to promote and encourage the beautification, security, and betterment of any subdivision located within the district. The continuation of such levy shall be contingent on the approval of a majority of the registered voters of the district at an election called pursuant to the Louisiana Election Code. B. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, any election to authorize renewal of a fee pursuant to this Section or any Section in this Subpart which is held during calendar year 2004, 2005, or 2006 shall be held at the same time as a regularly scheduled election held in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code and at such election such fee may be renewed for a period not to extend beyond December 31, 2010; however, any election to authorize a subsequent renewal of a fee renewed as provided in this Subsection shall be held only at the same time as the mayoral primary election of the largest city in the parish and such renewal shall be for a period not to exceed eight years.
