RS 9:2800.17
An owner may recover additional damages for a damaged vehicle’s loss in value if the vehicle was damaged by a third party’s negligence, was not destroyed, and the owner proves the reduced value. Total damages cannot exceed the vehicle’s pre-damage fair market value.
