§1730. Proceeds of sale; disposition of All funds received from the sale of a vehicle under this Chapter shall be set aside into separate accounts by the person making the sale and he shall deduct therefrom the full amount due and owing him for the storage and other charges, which shall be at the customary rates charged for such service, together with the costs of appraisal and advertisement, the balance, if any, to be credited on the books of such person to the credit of the owner for six months from the date of the sale; provided, however, that if the funds so credited are not claimed by the owner within the time specified herein they shall be deemed forfeited to the person making the sale, who may credit such funds to his own account free and clear of all claims.
