§407. Improvement and maintenance of navigation; advice of department of public works; cooperation with federal and state agencies Navigation districts shall have, with respect to the improvement and maintaining of navigation, the advice of the Department of Public Works, and it shall be the duty of the department to make such surveys, inspections and investigations; render such reports, estimates and recommendations; and furnish such plans and specifications as the board of commissioners of the district may request. Navigation districts may cooperate with the government of the United States, and contribute financially to the expense of such improvements and projects as may be adopted by the federal government; they may cooperate also with all agencies of this state in all undertakings, the result of which will be the furtherance of the objects for which the districts are created.
