§1575. Inspection of premises; orders for repair or removal of dangerous conditions A. Upon complaint of any person or upon his own initiative when he thinks necessary, the fire marshal or any of his authorized representatives may inspect any structure, watercraft, or movable within the state except the interiors of private and one- or two-family dwellings. B. Whenever the inspecting officer finds any such structure, watercraft, or movable, which, for any cause, is especially liable to fire or dangerous to life or which is so situated as to endanger other property or the occupants thereof, he shall order the dangerous materials removed, the condition of the premises remedied, or the premises razed. The occupant of the structure, watercraft, or movable shall not permit it to be used until the fire marshal certifies that the hazardous conditions have been eliminated. C. Among the causes which render a structure, watercraft, or movable especially liable to fire or dangerous to life are the following: (1) Want of repairs. (2) Age or deteriorated condition. (3) Lack of sufficient fire alarm or fire extinguishing apparatus. (4) Lack of adequate means of ingress and egress. (5) Lack of adequate, unrestricted passageways to the entrances and exits.
