§935. Council responsibilities The council shall: (1) Determine if a state-administered sex offender treatment program is necessary, identify needed services for the treatment and rehabilitation of sex offenders, report to the governor, the president of the Senate, and the speaker of the House of Representatives about the nature of the services and the funding necessary for the service. (6) Advise the office of behavioral health of the Louisiana Department of Health on the establishment and maintenance of a registry of individuals and programs providing mental health and medical services for sex offenders in accordance with R.S. 24:936. (7) Plan effective coordination of resources to prevent sex offenses and treatment of the sex offenders. (8) Serve as an advisory agency to the legislature, the governor, and resources involved in the prevention of sex offenses and the treatment of the sex offenders, or both. (9) Identify and promote the full range of resources and funding available to prevent sex offenses and treat the sex offenders.
