RS 32:1729
A tow truck owner or operator may get a department permit to sell or dismantle a vehicle, and the fee otherwise required by R.S. 32:728 does not apply, if the person has complied with the chapter and the vehicle was removed for a law-enforcement request as an abandoned vehicle or from an accident scene.
