§1523. Temporary permit A. The board may issue without examination a temporary permit to practice veterinary medicine in this state as follows: (1) To a qualified applicant for licensure, pending examination, provided such temporary permit shall expire the day after the notice of results of the first examination given after the permit is issued or as otherwise extended by the board. No temporary permit may be issued to any applicant who has previously failed the examination in this state or in any other state, territory, or district of the United States, or a foreign country. (2) To a nonresident veterinarian validly licensed in another state, territory, or district of the United States or a foreign country who has applied for licensure pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 37:1520, provided that such temporary permit shall expire the day after the notice of results of the first examination given after the permit is issued or as otherwise extended by the board. B. A temporary permit may be summarily revoked by a majority vote of the board without a hearing. Acts 1966, No. 35, §1, eff. July 1, 1967. Acts 1986, No. 468, §1.
