The commission may make rules to administer this chapter, and must adopt rules about designated brokers’ supervisory responsibilities.

The commission may establish guidelines and rules by which this chapter shall be administered. Rules shall be subject to the Maine Administrative Procedure Act, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II and consistent with the law to govern the following. [PL 1987, c. 395, Pt. A, §212 (NEW).] 1. Adjudicatory hearings. [PL 2007, c. 402, Pt. BB, §7 (RP).] 2. Investigations. [PL 2007, c. 402, Pt. BB, §8 (RP).] 3. Brokerage practice. The commission may adopt rules consistent with the standards set forth in this chapter governing real estate brokerage practices in order to establish standards of practice which serve the interests of both the public and the industry. [PL 1987, c. 395, Pt. A, §212 (NEW).] 4. License qualifications. The commission may adopt rules relating to the qualifications and application for any license authorized under this chapter as are deemed necessary to assure that applicants are sufficiently trustworthy and competent to transact the business for which they will be licensed. [PL 1987, c. 395, Pt. A, §212 (NEW).] 5. Fees. [PL 2007, c. 402, Pt. BB, §9 (RP).] 6. Education. The commission may adopt rules to be applied in determining whether educational programs meet the license qualifications required under this chapter. [PL 1987, c. 395, Pt. A, §212 (NEW).] 7. Supervision of employees. The commission shall adopt rules defining the authority and responsibility of designated brokers in supervising sales agents, as well as other brokerage related employees and independent contractors. [PL 1987, c. 395, Pt. A, §212 (NEW).] 8. Other. The commission may adopt and enforce such other rules as are necessary for the performance of its duties under this chapter. [PL 1987, c. 395, Pt.
