Minnesota Statutes § 122A.624 - EDUCATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS PROGRAM

§ Subdivision 1.Program outcomes. The outcomes of the educational effectiveness program are to: (1) increase meaningful parental involvement in site-based decision making; (2) improve results-oriented educational processes; (3) create flexible school-based organizational structures; and (4) improve student achievement. § Subd. 2.Program implementation. The commissioner of education shall develop and maintain a program of educational effectiveness and results-oriented education. The program shall be based on established principles of instructional design and the essential elements of effective instruction as determined by educational research. The program shall take into account the diverse needs of the school districts due to such factors as district size and location. § Subd. 3.Educational effectiveness staff development. The Department of Education shall provide assistance to the school districts in implementing an educational effectiveness program. The staff development shall be facilitated by building level decision-making teams. The staff development shall include clarification of individual school missions, goals, expectations, enhancement of collaborative planning and collegial relationships among the building staff, improvement of curriculum, assessment, instructional and organizational skills, improvement of financial and management skills, and planning of other staff development programs.
