Minnesota Statutes § 169.022 - UNIFORM APPLICATION
Local authorities may adopt traffic rules that do not conflict with this chapter, but they may not enforce conflicting local rules unless expressly authorized. If a local traffic ordinance covers the same subject as a chapter penalty, the local penalty must match the chapter penalty.
