In addition to the foregoing deductions, every insurer may take the following deductions from the gross amount of premiums received on policies or contracts providing health insurance benefits for the benefit of some or all of the employees of one or more employers or for the benefit of the members of a union or unions, whether or not such benefits are payable through a trustee: (1) One-fourth of the amount of benefit payments actually made during the year beginning January 1, 1972; (2) One-half of the amount of benefit payments actually made during the year beginning January 1, 1973; (3) Three-fourths of the amount of benefit payments actually made during the year beginning January 1, 1974; (4) The entire amount of benefit payments actually made during the year beginning January 1, 1975, and during each subsequent year.
